You’ve seen these things on a lot of sites. A shiny, yellow button leading to a
PayPal page that accepts donations for the website you’re presently visiting. And
you’re wondering, as you have wondered in the past, why you would ever want to go
and do a thing like donate your hard-
Running a website requires a few basic expenses, and a lot of time and creative effort. You come to Retail Death for entertainment, and I do not ever want to charge a fee for that. But I think of it like a museum. Many museums charge no admission, but request donations. Art should be free to view, but those kind of heart and good of soul will realize that the museum does require money to function. The employees have to be paid , the bills have to be paid, the property has to be kept up, etc. I don’t have nearly the same expenses that a museum does, so I’m asking for much less.
You have the option, of course, of visiting the Retail Death online store and purchasing the merchandise I have for sale there. But I understand if you don’t have $14 to spare, so I’ve put up the donation option. If you want to contribute, help me out with my expenses, and help offset the costs I’ve incurred creating the site (and hey, maybe even help me get extravagant things like food, and gas), click the donation button and toss a couple bucks my way. I sure would appreciate it!
